Updating maps on your VW SD card

Unread post by evs »

it's been a pain, none of the dealerships do it - bastards. so i came across this site: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/discov ... a.9458777/

will let you know how it goes but, thus far, it looks legit. #Volkswagen #navigation

A 2005 car that I bought new in 2005, that has no fancy schmancy techy stuff. If I need to know where I'm going, I check a map before I go there. :D

:D aw, good ole, simpler times... the tech is so sneaky, it gets under your skin and then you keep needing it even when you don't need it:) prime example - parking (rear view) camera.. it's so nice to have it, you get used to it and then you miss it if you lose it. same with auto headlights-off, automatic engine break, etc etc..

Hub has back-up cameras...I don't. And when I drive the truck (with the back-up camera)...I never use it. I find that when I start relying on 'auto this' and 'auto that'...I lose bits that allow me to rely on my own ability to do basic things.
I prefer to hang on to those things. :D

here's an updated map of israel for your sd card. it shows palestine (green) before and after the UN stuck it's nose where it ill belonged. you'll notice how much smaller it gets after partitioning which is the direct result of israel warring with it's new neighbors.

whatever is going on in the middle east is the direct result of meddling by outside forces. the united states being the worst culprit by supplying arms and cash to israel.

what is that? and how do i make the rest of my life about it.

If I'm going to an unfamiliar place, I do the street view on google maps. I do better to have visual clues to where I'm going.
I like knowing that there's a Shell station on the corner and a Starbucks across the street. I don't have time to read street signs. :D

It's not really about not being lazy...I just do better with visual prompts than I do with verbal instruction. :D
It's possible I'm on the spectrum on some level...I dunno...but I need to SEE where I'm going. It just works better for me. :pardon:

Have you been pinched by any earwigs since it happened to you in August of 2018?

I love all of these electronic advances in today’s cars, until something goes wrong or ya lose the electronic opener. Here it’s $1800. to replace one.

Manual is one of the best safety features since less then 10% of Canada can drive one plus they are a dying trend which makes then cool.

Yeah I guess if you commute downtown often that is true..

I am definitely not a fan of giving Impark my money for a parking stall either since they are greedy bastards.

If it does not, then skip. No need for an emoticon
