I want a cow

Unread post by mimi »

Ya, that's right, a cow.
I'm sick of crappy butter.

I make own butter sometimes. You could try that? Don't forget to salt it when your done...mix it in, then shape it and refrigerate the butter.

I hardly use butter at all. Maybe for rice or homemade mac and cheese.

Unrelated, but Rex Murphy has died of cancer.

Winning.

The thing is, making your own butter from the milk that comes from cows that are fed the same palm oil based diet doesn't change the end result. It's not in how the butter is made, but from what the cows are being fed.

Everything is crappy today. Can't escape it. I wish I could own a farm, grow my own garden and have some animals. Eat clean food. Long gone are those days. We need to go back to that.

There are lots of small family farms here. I'm thinking of approaching them to offer a trade. I'll pay for their feed in exchange for some non-palm oil fed cream. I think it would be financially a good deal for them, and some REAL butter for me. :D

It's possible.

I would give a cow that would give me good cream, some loving hugs. :pardon:

I suppose our butter MIGHT be considered real butter in the sense that it's made the same as 'real' butter...but it's not.

Sitting counter-top in a warm room...no matter how warm, it's never spreadable. Warning sign that something isn't right. And apparently, it has nothing to do with the process in which the butter is made, but in the quality of the cream. It's related to a palm oil based diet, and it makes crappy butter.

I hear you meem! Butter is supposed to melt the minute you look at it, not half an hour later.

It 'melts' in the microwave' but not at the normal temperature that butter would soften. There's something very wrong. =(

The bread I make is soft textured, and room temperature butter should spread on it, but it only rips the bejeezers out of it.

I'm not sure what that means, but my chances of finding a farm that doesn't feed their cows with a palm oil based diet, could be pretty good.

Perhaps you could try whipping your butter a bit before you spread it...gets it light and fluffy for the perfect spread

DD reeks of stale cigarette smoke, and her unattended vaginal seepage. The forest animals go wild.

5-10 seconds in a microwave should make it perfect but I hear you, who wants to have that added step.
